Katie & Jules’ pre-wedding shoot ~ Goodwood House

Katie and Jules will soon be married at Goodwood House, but as we usually do, we met up for their pre-wedding shoot just a short time ago. Unfortunately we chose a wickedly rainy day, and so our very short shoot was done in one of the lovely conference rooms at The Kennels.

It was pretty dark in there, so I opted for some dramatic lighting with a video light – something from my arsenal that I have not used for quite some time now …

Emily & Will’s London Engagement Shoot

Emily and Will are soon to be married in Hawkhurst, Kent and I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding with my team. But, as you know, an Engagement (or pre-wedding) shoot always happens first and so I met up with them at Clapham Common for our session.

Such an easy couple to photograph, and some lovely shots here …

Rebecca & Matt’s London Engagement Shoot

The lovely Rebecca and Matt are soon to be married and their wedding will feature here. However, we met up in Central London a few weeks ago for their Engagement Shoot, around the Royal Albert Hall. We spent most of the time dodging the rain, but a little bit of drizzle didn’t hurt.

Katie & Matt’s Bristol pre wedding shoot

Having booked me over 18 months ago, Katie & Matt’s wedding is now fast approaching, and we will be meeting up again in less than two weeks! So, this weekend, after a couple of failed attempts, we met up at Bristol’s gorgeous Harbourside for their pre-wedding shoot.

Having visited the location before, for a Speedlight Mastery course with one of my great inspirations Damien Lovegrove, I knew exactly where I wanted to go and what I wanted to try. So, we dodged the Saturday shoppers and the flow of people around the MShed, and just got on with doing our stuff.

Both Katie and Matt were naturals, and ignored all the stares and comments from passers-by. Between you and me, I think Matt thrived on the attention !

Just before we go to the images, a huge Thank You to Helen and Freia who were our very capable assistants during the shoot. (Lots of pressure shooting in front of two other photographers, I tell you!)

Jennifer & Les’ Pre Wedding Shoot

What better way to spend a warm, sunny July afternoon than in Richmond Park on a photoshoot ! Which is exactly what Jennifer, Les and I did a few days ago, for their pre-wedding shoot. Having booked me as their wedding photographer over 18 months ago, how mad is it that we only manage their session less than two weeks before the wedding proper ?!

So, despite the flying and biting bugs, and both Jen & I fighting the hay fever, the three of us spent a fun, relaxing couple of hours just getting to know each other a little more ahead of the wedding, which takes place at the end of the month.

Sarah & Mark’s Pre Wedding Shoot

This super fun couple are getting married next weekend and I cannot wait – there’s a special thing happening that I am not sure if I can talk about yet, so I keeping schtum for now.

We met up down in Eastbourne last week, on the day that the weather was shockingly bad … fortunately we missed the rain, but it was threatening for the duration of the shoot!

It made for some cool and moody skies though …

Farzana & Nadil ~ London Engagement Shoot

Meet Farzana & Nadil, a young, hip and trendy couple whose wedding next weekend is going to be the biggest I have ever photographed, with some 600 friends and family !

We met up very early last Sunday morning, at Little Venice, in London – I never knew that there were two 6.30s on a Sunday ! Despite the unfriendly start time of 8am, these guys were in great spirits and we quickly got to the business of a photoshoot. Farzana had chosen Little Venice because of the waterways and colours around, and our postponement away from the torrential downpour the Friday before was a great idea. Sunday morning brought us some lovely sunshine, as well as clouds so we got on an produced some great shots.

This first shot was literally the first shot of the day, so I knew we were in for a good one – they seemed to ease into their modelling roles very naturally …

A little bit of off-camera flash under a bridge gave us a good zingy feel to the shots …

And there’s nothing wrong with a little tomfoolery …

Nadil tried a new hairstyle. Suits you mate!

Another bit of off-camera flash before, yet again, an over-eager security guard came to move us along for photographing the sky … eh ?? The sky ?? “Yeah, you cannot take photos here” … Hmm, I think some people have waay too much time on their hands on a Sunday morning, if their greatest threat is a photographer photographing the sky ..

Sarah & Richard ~ Engagement Photography London

I met up with Sarah and Richard for their Engagement Photography Session in London earlier this week, on the first of our very windy days after the recent sun. After a great lunch at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, we went for a walk around the gorgeous architecture of the Naval College.

Unfortunately our session was cut short by a very grizzly woman with a walkie-talkie demanding to know what we were doing. The first mention of the word ‘wedding’ and we were asked to leave due to failure of a “photography permit”. A little harsh, we thought, as the college grounds were rammed full of people taking photographs from all angles, with no interference from Walkie-Talkie-Wanda ! Must have been the big lens

Anyhow, no biggie as we were almost done, so we headed off the grounds with smiles and frowns combined.

Phillipa & Jason’s Surrey Engagement Shoot

Well … after a much deserved holiday, comprising a two-week stint of SCUBA Diving in Lanzarote, the British weather called me back to an inbox of work and photographs. I’ll post a few holiday images up soon, but for now I want to share Phillipa and Jason’s Surrey Engagement Shoot with you.

They will be getting married next weekend, and so as the excitement builds, here are some of the images we took right before I went away a few weeks back :

Their venue is just down the road from me and I cannot wait for next Saturday. I hope all your plans come along nicely and look forward to seeing you both very soon!

Katrina and Richard’s Pre-Wedding Shoot

I can honestly say that today was bitterly, bitterly cold – probably the coldest conditions in which I have ever done a pre-wedding shoot. However, Katrina & Richard were amazing … and despite the callous frigid chill of the wind, we had a great morning!

Having never met Katrina and Richard before today, we started proceedings with a lovely cooked breakfast in their little village of Emsworth, taking time to get to know each other a little (and relax some of those pre-photoshoot nerves!) After copious amounts of tea and coffee, we then headed down to the water and tried to ignore the arctic conditions. The sun was certainly working with us though – as I left Guildford at 8.30am this morning, it was grey, dull and foggy, and seemed to remain that way all day, for it was just as miserable when I returned this afternoon. Emsworth & Hayling Island, on the other hand, were beautiful and bathed in glorious winter sun !

February’s wedding is going to be much fun, with Friday night Hog Roast and all fingers are crossed for none of the snow we experienced this February either!! See you soon guys xx
