So, after somewhat of a mad final dash to Christmas, and a terribly long spell of blogful neglect, I wanted to post some images from a gorgeous shoot I did a few weeks ago. Little Annabella appeared in the last edition of Baby Surrey Magazine, along with dad and mum, Jessica, who is the brains behind the Mumzy-Not Yummy Mummy Blog.

The Photographer who came to Tea

A few weeks back I was very honoured to meet and photograph the writer and illustrator, Judith Kerr, the name behind the well known book, “The Tiger Who Came to Tea”! The book was first published in 1968 and was written and illustrated by Judith.

The story is now a live stage show and Judith has another book recently published, called “My Henry” …

So, continuing along the Baby Photography theme, this little lady is Isabella, and she was my first shoot for the next edition of Baby Surrey Magazine. A lovely shoot with a happy little lady on a beautifully sunny morning – what more could you ask for ?!

Friday Fairy Fun ~ Surrey Children’s Photography

A couple of weeks ago, I had the most amazing job to do, one beautifully sunny Friday afternoon. My brief was to photograph a Real Fairy tea party, complete with Fairy Pillow Sausage Rolls, Moo Cow Milkshakes, Honeycomb Cupcakes with Bees and Jammy Stars (yes, complete sugar rush – but I was OK after a glass of water or two!)

This was all for an upcoming article in Baby Surrey and Baby London magazines with Helen Nathan, kitchen goddess and authoress of the Flossie Crums children’s baking books.

Baby Surrey Photography, Summer Shoot 1

These cheeky chappies are George and William. Two bouncy little fellows with minds of their own and whilst it might look like butter wouldn’t melt, oh how much fun we had trying to get some good images, as mummy will contest !

Thankfully, we were aided by one of the most gorgeous Saturday mornings that I have experienced in ages, with sun and warmth galore, allowing us to head into the sumptuous garden for some smashing shots.

So, here are my favourites, but presented to you in a very different way from normal – I am experimenting with a new format of presenting images and would be most pleased to hear what you think … there’ll be a few cosmetic changes to the blog soon, which I am quite excited about. More on that soon – for now, here are the images:

Me, Myself and Myleene Klass!

A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to photograph the gorgeous Myleene Klass, for an upcoming article in Baby Surrey, Baby London and Baby Hampshire magazines.

A somewhat nerve wracking morning, wondering what she would be like, how much time I would have to photograph her, and what the light would be like! You don’t always get the opportunity to set up artificial lights, so I had to make sure I arrived early enough at the beautiful Hemple boutique hotel, and run around like a mad man, scouting good locations.

Myleene breezed in, somewhat late, with hugs and kisses for everyone, apologising profusely about the traffic and ordering a plate of chips for her and the bump! A real down to earth girl, who was a pleasure to work with!

So, whilst Claire, our super journalist, did the interview, I shot a few candids and then had my five minutes to pull something out of the bag. The scouting around had done the job nicely, and the light was perfect for what I wanted, because we got some crackers!

For those that don’t know, Myleene has designed a range of beautiful clothes in conjunction with Mothercare called the Baby K Range. She’s currently on her 6th collection – no mean feat. Click HERE to go see the range.

So, now that the calm has returned & we all start to trudge back to work, heads held low … I just want to take this opportunity to wish everybody a very Happy New Year. I hope that 2011 brings you all something very special – be it health, success, happiness or … whatever you want!!

Here at Matt Pereira Photography we’re going to be doing a few things differently this year, so stay tuned for some new stuff coming your way …

Welcome to the World Gabriella | Baby Photography

This little cutie was one of our recent Welcome to the World shoots for Baby Surrey Magazine. Six month old Gabriella had refused to sleep before I arrived, so she was a little grizzly. But we let her sleep for some of the shoot, and were able to get some beautifully intimate family shots. My faves from the session:
