Wow! I have been so excited about this blog post that I have hardly been able to contain myself – however, those were the rules and so I had to wait until I was given the go ahead to show the images. Finally the time has come and Yarwood White have now launched an amazing new website, so it’s full steam ahead with the images for this Surrey Wedding Photographer!

So, several months ago, I was commissioned to do a Bridal Fashion Shoot at The Medicine Garden, Surrey, for the delightfully lovely Clare Yarwood-White in conjunction with the suave cool dude Russell Blackburn, of Blackburn Bridal Couture.

Yarwood-White was founded in 2003 and they design and make beautiful wedding jewellery, which is regularly featured in You and Your Wedding Magazine, Brides Magazine, Perfect Wedding Magazine, Wedding, Cosmo Bride, Wedding Ideas … the list goes on. Their designs have been worn by the likes of Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.

Blackburn Bridal, based in Blackheath, offer a stunning array of gowns from some of today’s top bridal designers the industry has to offer. For the purpose of the shoot, Russell and Clare chose a selection of gowns by Claire Pettibone.

The shoot literally took weeks of planning. Fiona Humberstone from Flourish Studios was in charge of branding and art direction, and as Flourish have just branded Yarwood-White and built their all-singing-all-dancing website, she was best placed to mould the day accordingly. None of us would have been able to achieve what we did without the strong leadership of Fiona, as she was key to pulling the entire team together and ensure that we were all going in the same direction.

On to the images then … the brief for the day was to find a strong model who could represent not only the Yarwood-White brand but the type of bride who aspires to wear the Yarwood-White jewellery. About 4 weeks before the big day, Clare, Russell and I spent an afternoon at Blackburn Bridal, casting for the shoot and interviewing around 15 models. We decided upon the gorgeous Anna Quirk, from Bookings Models in London, who we all felt could bring out the best in the pieces and the dresses.

That said, the images were not to be as much about the pieces of jewellery, or the dresses themselves. They were to be about the brand and the lifestyle of the brides who would wear Yarwood-White ; stylish, creative & confident.

It was an exhausting day for us all, and very challenging, with strong sun one minute and then cloudy the next. But with perseverance and outstanding team work, we got through it, and produced what I believe to be is a cracking set of images.

I cannot wait to work with the team again on our next project!

This gorgeous little character is Thomas – one of the most smiley and happy babies I have ever met in my life! He was an absolute little treasure and a delight to photograph. Thomas is just 6 months old, but looks very grown up in his whites and blues. As well as an incredible amount of smiles, we found a lot of other faces too, as you can see.

It’s been a little busy over the last few weeks, as it always is this time of year when things start to close out for the season.

However, there’s been a good reason for being a little quiet on the blogging front and that’s due to the fact that i’ve been working on a new website, in conjunction with the ever fantastic Flourish Studios.

I wanted something that looked similar to my old website, but more Google friendly, and a little faster, too. As a photographer it’s all about the images, and so as the previous layout worked well, there was little point straying from that design too much. Of course, with the funky new branding that Flourish have created for me over the last year or so, we needed to update the look and feel of the website too, and I think that’s been done rather well.

This weekend we will be exhibiting at the Modern Bride Contemporary Wedding Show, at Excel in London’s Docklands.

The show is open from 10am til 5pm each day. Catwalk shows are at 10.30am, 12 noon, 2pm and 3.30pm
Nearest DLR station is Prince Regent.

I will be exhibiting at stand 108, along with a selection of lovely assistants throughout the weekend.
